OCM Clinic Germany, München
We consider around 100 indicators from the clinic's annual reports.
Data based on feedback from patients treated here
The OCM Clinic specializes in orthopedic and trauma surgery, endoprosthetic surgeries and sports orthopedics. Its team always uses a comprehensive approach to treatment. The best results come from a combination of minimally invasive surgery, physical therapy and individualized rehabilitation programs supervised by rehabilitation professionals.
The clinic emphasizes the importance of highly accurate diagnostics that help select an optimal minimally invasive treatment strategy. A dedicated medical team follows every patient throughout all stages of treatment and recovery, and this streamlines the transition process and eliminate redundant medical reviews and examinations.
More about the clinic
The OCM Clinic focus is on arthroscopic surgery. This approach enables joint operations without open surgery. For example, it is used in most knee surgeries (except for artificial joint replacement), cruciate ligament repairs, partial meniscus removal or reinforcement procedures, articular cartilage repairs, and other interventions.
Moreover, OCM is one of the few German clinics that performs ankle joint replacements. Most patients are happy with the results at least two years after surgery. Head of this practice, professor Hans Hertlein, DMS, performs about 1,000 such procedures annually.
When treating spine patients, the clinic frequently uses spinal disk replacement or dynamic stabilization techniques that restore the original anatomy and mitigates pain without intervertebral blockage.
All procedures, including spinal hernia removal and treatment of spinal cord's stenosis, are minimally invasive or endoscopic, and this prevents blood loss and speeds up rehabilitation.
History of the clinic
OCM München was established in 2003 after the merging of two clinics in southern Munich.
The most effective surgeries and procedures
- Endoprosthesis of the knee joint, the ankle joint or the hip: a type of surgery that replaces components of the joints with implants that have the anatomic shape of a healthy joint. This surgery helps recover full range of movement.
- Spinal surgery: minimally invasive methods of catheterization and probing, as well as endoscopic spinal surgery.
- Endoprosthesis of intervertebral discs: replacement of damaged intervertebral discs with artificial implants.
- Arthroscopic joint reconstruction: minimally invasive surgery that helps recover joint movement.
