History
Elisha Hospital opened on May 31, 1949 on the initiative of Dr. Ben-Zion Hirshowitz. Its building was designed by Zeev Rechter. The hospital building initially had two floors with 72 hospital beds. In 1976, another floor was added, bringing the clinic's bed count to 104. In 1997, a retirement home finished construction near the clinic.

Elisha Hospital is located in Haifa, a city in northern Israel 90 km away from Tel Aviv. The clinic is situated in a picturesque resort area on the Mediterranean shore. Haifa is a major port city famous for its Bahai Gardens and the Shrine of the Bab.
It takes about 90 minutes by car and just over 2 hours by public transport to reach the clinic from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
