The Penzing Clinic is a culturally significant institution in Vienna, built in 1907 according to the plans of the famous architect Otto Wagner. The complex consists of 60 pavilions that now house medical departments and centers, laboratories, and cultural facilities, such as the memorial to the history of Nazi medicine in Vienna.

The organizational form that we can now observe at the clinic was established on August 1, 2000 as a result of the merger of five previously independent medical institutions: the Baumgartner Höhe and Sanatoriumstrasse nursing homes, the Maria-Theresien-Schlössl neurological hospital, the Baumgartnerhöhe psychiatric hospital and the Baumgartnerhöhe pulmonology center.
