The Dornbirn Hospital, a public hospital founded on December 1, 1983, is located in the major Austrian region of Vorarlberg. Its seven main clinical departments, namely internal medicine, general and visceral surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and adolescent medicine, orthopedics, radiology, anesthesiology and intensive care as well as the functional department of dietetics and physical therapy guarantee comprehensive and first-class medical care for inpatients and outpatients. In total there are 286 inpatient beds.
On the roof of the hospital there is a 600 m² helipad for air ambulance, which was built in 2017. The pad has heated floors, making it suitable for winter use.
The medical facility also provides students with opportunities for internships. In addition, the town of Dornbirn has been certified as an "Excellent Apprentice Training Facility" for the qualified education of medical students five times in a row.
