    History of the clinic

    Urological Clinic Munich-Planegg was established in 1970 in the Planegg district of Bavaria. The clinic's inpatient facility first had 40 hospital beds. By 1978, the number of hospital beds doubled.

    In 1989, the clinic was one of the first to start using a gamma camera. In 1992, its specialists began using Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for treatment of bladder stones.

    In 2009, the clinic became the first certified prostate treatment center in Munich.

    The clinic underwent major reconstruction from 2017 to 2019. The clinic is now able to accommodate more patients in its inpatient unit. A new X-ray department with state-of-the-art CT and MRI scanners was opened. Its specialists started using the da Vinci surgical system. The clinic also expanded its fields of expertise by establishing a Center for Reconstructive Urogenital Surgery and a gynecology department.
